WIP Wednesday: Kevin Annoys Jeremy and Random Inspiration

I’ve made progress on weird things over the past week and did a lot of family stuff. I brought my daughter home from college for the summer and lost a lot of time with that, though. But she’s happy to be home and I’m glad to have her back. So I’ll get a bit more caught up over the next couple of days.

I finished the short freebie that’s going to be for the Too Close series. You have to read book 10 before you read the bonus. Have to. Major spoilery things in that if you jump ahead. But I love how it turned out and it’s long enough that it’s going to be in ebook form by the end of next week once it’s been edited.

“So…we’re assuming…what?” Kevin seemed dead set on me being the one to fuck up the situation based on how intently he was studying me. “I’m not trying to be annoying to them…just you.”

“Thanks for clarifying that.” He was so ridiculous. “It’s working.”

He flashed me a grin before throwing himself at me and wrapping his arms around my neck. “I know. You’re so sexy when you’re trying not to strangle me.”

We really needed to work on his self-preservation instincts.

And here’s another piece of book 11 Too Close to Ignore (See? It finally has a title. lol) because I’m making amazing progress on that.

“I’m not rewarding him.” Maddox didn’t believe that in the slightest, but I appreciate the attempt. “I’m hoping that…I’m hoping that making him feel loved will make getting the explanation easier.”

Oh, good one.

Not that was going to fall for it.

“You’re so sweet.” Pretending he’d just told me he loved me, I kissed his cheek and bounced away. “I do feel loved and now I’m going to show you how special you are by making fresh whipped cream for you.”

Jeremy groaned again. “For fuck’s sake.”

Ha.

Even he knew I’d won.

And since Shaw is an author that gets inspiration in random places, here’s a new cutie that I’m poking at. We’ll see what happens with him but a longer version of this will probably go up on Patreon next week if inspiration keeps flowing for it.

“I…I always see Ms. Clara. She’s…she’s my massage therapist.” The wide-eyed look I was currently getting from the awkward cutie had me wondering what was going through his head. “She’s…she’s my massage person. My…my person.”

Did he think I was confused about that?

“Ms. Clara has unfortunately decided to retire.” Because her current boytoy had gotten a new job in some weird Caribbean country I’d never heard of and she’d decided she was in love. “If you’d like, I can get you rescheduled with one of the other massage therapists.”

Somehow that had his eyes going even wider. “She…she was the only woman.”

Um, okay.

She’d also been nearly seventy, so unless he also had a thing for dirty old ladies, he hadn’t picked her out because of her looks. And since her personality was soft battle ax, he hadn’t stayed with her for the last year because of that either.

Trauma?

Lots of new words and new cuties and some other bonus chapter stuff. I’ve made good progress on the short for Lorne where he’s getting arrested. Our easily frustrated deputy has been talked into arresting Lorne and it’s so funny.

Okay, off to work on my to-do list because I didn’t have internet access most of the day and you’d be surprised at how many things that fucked up. Wish me luck getting all the words in and everything checked off my list.

Want more teasers and WIP stories from me? There will be new full WIP chapters up on Patreon soon for tiers 2 and 3!

WIP Wednesday: Kevin’s Confused, A First Time at the Club, and a Nosy Dally

I’ve been working on a few things Too Close related. I’m going to try not to spoil anything but if you’re behind on the Loving books then it’s time to catch up. So no spoilers but if you were curious about what happens after the last Loving book then I’m going to have a short bonus story coming up to show you what happens that night.

Book 11 now has a title and I’m several chapters in. Kevin is loving the chaos of their road trip but he’s either slightly confused about something or playing dumb…it’s hard to tell so we’ll have to see.

“How did we end up getting talked into this?” Jeremy’s question might’ve been aimed at Maddox but Bryan decided to be helpful.

“He’s cute. It’s dangerous.”

Aww.

The anthology novella is done as well and it’s from the omegaverse. I’m really curious to see what you think of it because we’ve got a new sub at the club and we’re seeing a new type of playroom. How much to tease? It’s hard to tell. A little one…do you remember our Milkshake cutie from the One of Those Days series?

Going to the club for the first time will make anyone nervous.

“We’ve decided to be mostly clothed. We’re not into anything confusing yet. We’re not loud people in general or attention whores. I am confident that we will not be the most interesting people in there.” I shrugged as he giggled. “Now, give us a few more months of research and we might find other things that make us stand out.”

And last but not least I’m playing with Dally’s book. He’s delightfully nosy and is butting in on a random conversation.

What would they do when the vanilla-looking businessman’s dick was done?

Age gap couples needed to plan better, but they never did.

Okay, we could fix this. They had good chemistry, that’d been obvious just eavesdropping, so we just needed to push them to talk about more practical things.

Like oil changes and vacations and grocery shopping…the important shit that would make or break a relationship.

God, what if one of them was a grocery store lister and one was a pantser and they couldn’t handle that?

Lots to write and lots to figure out. Don’t forget to share ideas that you’ve got for some of our side characters or upcoming books.

A Sweet Established Couple – Hiding From Laughter (expanded) is now Live on Amazon and Free in KindleUnlimited!

Micha and Ashton are back and Hiding From Laughter is now live on Amazon. Writing novellas is ridiculously hard, so I was excited to go back and fill out their story like I really wanted to the first time. Seeing them go on dates and giving Ashton more time to explore all the things he’s secretly curious about was so much fun.

But I have to admit his ridiculous stubbornness is one of my favorite things about him. He’s not worried about looking silly or even being logical. He’s not afraid to remind Micha that he doesn’t have to talk if he doesn’t want to and he’s more than willing to ignore all the consequences of it.

He’s an adorable nut and I can see why Micha loves him to pieces…but I can also see why Micha needs to push him a bit.

So if you’re ready for cute fun with lots of spicy scenes and a visit to the Bound and Controlled club, then I hope you have fun with Hiding From Laughter.

This has:
-A mostly nonverbal little using diapers
-A naughty cutie who’s curious about being tickled until he loses control
-A visit to the B&C Club and that bathroom everyone’s been eyeing
-A few familiar faces at the club
-And two men who are wonderfully sweet but have the most ridiculous conversations…because Ashton is a bit of a menace.

Check out the first chapter if you haven’t read that yet and here’s the link to a fun bonus chapter with Ben and Conner. They’re going over Ashton’s club application and we’re just going to say that’s it’s a bit cheeky.

Hiding From Laughter (extended edition) by MA Innes - Early Access Pre-Order - Gay Romance Book Cover

I should’ve never crafted drunk.

Ashton knew being too honest when putting ideas into their jar of fantasies would come back to bite him at some point, and unfortunately he’s finally reached that point. So…now what? How is he supposed to explain his slightly curious fantasies when he isn’t sure where to start?

Maybe he just needs better ways to avoid the conversation completely?

Micha knows his not-so-subtle partner is hiding something…probably something ridiculous, knowing Ashton…but he’s got to decide how long he’s willing to let the insanity continue. Eventually, Ashton has to say what’s on his mind, right?

When crafting leads to nervous confessions and laughter, tickling won’t be the only thing that brings them closer together than ever before.

Author’s Note: This was originally in the Naughty November 2024 anthology under the Shaw side of things, but it’s been expanded and has been moved over to the MA Innes side. Ashton is curious about a lot of things, but Hiding From Laughter explores tickling that leads to a loss of bladder control and the little side he’s doing his best to ignore. Please see the author’s site for a longer content list.

WIP Wednesday: Omegas at the Club and Kevin is Innocent?

I’ve mostly gotten words in on the next Too Close book and the book for the next Dirty Daddy anthology. But I’ve also gotten words in on the book I’m writing for Patreon (a bit of exhibitionism and voyeurism) and I’ve been playing around with ideas for bonus content.

There are a lot of places that the content goes so there’s always a list of ideas that I want to work on and a list of things I need to work out. Most of the time those are never the same and it would make my life a lot easier if they would cooperate and work together more.

Here’s a peek at the anthology book that’s part of the omegaverse world. One guess who’s talking here.

He pointed out his favorite architectural features just as easily as he pointed out a spanking bench on the far side of the lounge. “I’d recommend a gag or something like that if you’re going to use that one. Some subs are loud and we don’t want to interrupt conversations.”

As he made it to the top of the stairs, he frowned. “People really do come just to sit and talk. Clothes on and no orgasms. It’s the strangest thing.”

On one level, I agreed with him, but I could see myself doing the same thing.

Kevin’s trying to look innocent but it’s not working. I think I’m on his side with this one, though.

“Master Maddox, I can’t be punished when I followed all the rules, right?” It was time to get closer to the weak link just in case, so I quickly hurried around the back of the car to put some distance between me and the drama queen who made the punishment rules. “And I was good because I trusted Bryan.”

Yep…Jeremy couldn’t find any loopholes in that either.

Maddox’s cough said he approved of my logic even though Dom rules said he wasn’t allowed to admit that yet. He had to wait until Jeremy wasn’t trying to decide how to strangle me first. That seemed to be a Dom rule they all tried to keep even though it was ridiculous.

If I was cute and funny, he should be allowed to laugh.

“I’m pretty sure…” Maddox had to take a deep breath as his giggles tried to return. “I’m pretty sure you’d look more innocent if you just stopped talking.”

Ugh.

Sage thinks the next big bonus scene/chapter should be the scene where Lorne ended up in jail. I agree with her but I’m just not sure how it starts. I might have to reread a bit of the dragon shenanigans to see if that will spark an idea.

Let me know if you have ideas for bonus scenes you want to see or if you know how the jail scene should start. Alright, back to words and my to-do list. Wish me luck getting through that because I want to get the preorder for the next Too Close book up soon.

WIP Wednesday: New Omegas, Familiar Troublemakers, and More Lactin Brotherhood

I’ve been soooo productive so far. I’ve gotten planning in for a road trip (for characters not me) and I’ve gotten words on the page and I’m catching up on my to-do list.

So now it’s time to tell you about the words on page part of my success. I’ve made progress on a variety of projects from random stuff to the things I’m supposed to be working on, so I thought I’d share excerpts from the ones that got the most words so far.

My cute new couple for the next Dirty Daddies Pride Anthology coming out in June. These two are very new to BDSM and new to each other. But they’re open-minded and very curious. This is from the alpha/Dom’s POV. Yep this one is going to be omegaverse.

“You’re questioning whether this is a good idea too, right? It’s not just me?” I was really hoping it wasn’t just me since I was technically the Dom in our still slightly new relationship…and even in our slightly screwed up society, alphas weren’t supposed to be this unsure of things.

Collin snickered, nodding as he set his phone on his lap and leaned back in the passenger seat. “Oh yeah. That’s kind of why I haven’t been able to get out of the car.”

Well, at least I hadn’t been reading the signals wrong.

No name yet but they’re cute so far.

I’ve also gotten words in on the next Too Close book. This doesn’t have a name either but we know these cuties and they’re going on a road trip. No idea about the release dates yet but let me know if you have ideas for names in the Loving series. Those are getting hard.

“I’m not moving no matter what you think we’re doing.” Jeremy glared at the car, looking sexy and suspicious. “I’m also not tying anyone to the roof.”

He shouldn’t look so skeptical…I was smarter than he thought.

“I’ve done three dry runs in the past week. There’s room for all four of us and for the people in the backseat to have sex.” Planning for anything that might pop up on a road trip was important no matter what Bryan seemed to think. “I even have an emergency kit and a sex kit.”

Again…planning.

Jeremy just stared at me like he was expecting me to break first, but I was never the weak link.

“What’s in a sex kit?”

Maddox was the weak link.

I love these guys and I’m so excited to see what they get up to. It’s never what I think they’re going to do, so it’s going to be a surprise for all of us.

And for our last WIP excerpt, this wasn’t on my to-write list until a bit later this year, but the idea popped up when I was talking to a friend the other day, so I had to get started on it. This is going to be Dally’s book from the Lactin Brotherhood series that I got to write in last year.

“Baby. I want you to take a deep breath for me and let it out slowly. I’m slightly worried about your blood pressure and the only way I know how to fix that is with an orgasm, so we’re going to have to try something more conventional. This isn’t the place for that, unfortunately.”

Perfection.

Blinks and breathing and he was a less startling color.

“Does that work?” Giving his head a cute puppy shake, Harely let out another breath. “Never mind. I was…I don’t know what happened.”

“You were Dally-ed. It happens.” For some reason I was overwhelming. I didn’t agree with the assessment but there was enough scientific evidence to show it was a real thing that I could deny it completely.

Remember all these are work-in-progress excerpts so there have been no edits so far. Comment below with ideas or feel free to find me in the Facebook group if that’s easier for you. Okay, back to working on words and my to-do list.

I hope you have a very productive week too.

50K+ Longer, More Tickling, and a Trip to B&C Club – Pre-Order Hiding From Laughter Now

Some books are harder to describe in the blurb than others…especially when I’m not sure how to describe certain activities in the Amazon version of the blurb. (They’re a bit weird about stuff lol)

Hiding From Laughter is one of those books. (Picture a confused author shaking her head.)

Where to start?

Well, the extended version of Hiding From Laughter is now up on preorder and I’m very grateful for all the help you guys gave me when I asked for ideas about what else needed to go in the longer version of this book. I’ve added about 50k words to this new version.

For those of you who didn’t read the short version in the Naughty November anthology, it had a sub who wanted to explore being tickled until he lost control. His Dom also thought he was a little but they didn’t explore that in the book. The closest they came to that part was using diapers to help with the loss of control part.

Here are the highlights of things I think you might want to know:

-In the longer book we’re exploring Ashton’s little side.
-He’s a young, nonverbal little for the most part.
-We also have more tickling and wetting.
-There’s also a fun trip to the B&C club.
-They use the wet room (bathroom) at the club and there is a bit of a “marking” fantasy as Micha plays the alpha claiming his omega with mild watersports. (This is easily skipped over if you’re not curious.)
-We’ve got some fun cameos. (Keep reading to the bottom of this to see the cameos.)

You can see why some of this is hard to explain in the burb without Amazon shoving the book into erotica or worse.

It’s really a sweet romance with some spicy bits and lots of cute little time. But I think my favorite part of this book is how Micha and Ashton are already a couple but they’re still learning things about each other. (The spicy bits are fun too, though.)

There’s a really funny scene where they’re discussing what constitutes cheating and Micha realizes they have very different definitions even though they’d done limits list and talked about it before. (No cheating happens just a conversation.)

Watching them figure that out just made me laugh and Ashton’s not-so-subtle thinking that Micha is bananas (and probably needs to be fed) was a lot of fun to write. These two just make me smile and I love the way they explore all the new parts of their relationship.

Hiding From Laughter is now up on preorder here on my site and on Amazon and will go live on April 25th.

Check out the first chapter of Hiding From Laughter.

I’ve also got a fun short bonus chapter for this about the club visit. It’s from Conner’s point of view and just gives a peek at what he’s thinking. I don’t think there’s any spoilers in this bonus.
