WIP Wednesday: Bigfoot and Random Starts

I’m getting my act together and actually got a lot of practical things done over the past week along with getting words on the page.

But let’s start with words…

“You really can’t ask me things unless you want to know the answer. I can stay quiet but my inside thoughts become outside thoughts when…when a Dom asks me questions.” He might not have been human but the beautiful tint to the edges of his aura meant Dom.

Well, Daddy from what I’d been told, but we hadn’t gotten to that point in the conversation yet.

Until now.

Ugh.

Slow breath in.

Slow breath out.

The matchmaker said we were compatible and he’d been nothing but nice so far. He’d even walked slowly over to give me a few seconds to get my bearings because he’d probably been obvious I hadn’t been expecting him.

I’d thought meeting out near the state park meant he’d be a shifter of some sort.

That had been an assumption I should’ve clarified sooner.

My monster…well…my Bigfoot and my human-looking cutie. (Not going to tell you what he is yet lol) Their book is done and I can’t wait to show you more about it but we’ll have to be patient because the Dirty Daddies Monster Anthology isn’t coming out until October. (Have I mentioned I’m not good with being patient?)

I’ve also worked on the Patreon story and I’ve got several half-started bonus shorts up on my computer.

Here are a couple of the starts, so if you have a favorite let me know.

“No. He said no moonshine in the luggage and no booze in the first aid kit.” Austin shook his head and shrugged. “He said nothing about the trunk of the car or that weird spot where the spare tire goes. It’s not my fault he left loopholes and I like spankings.”

And…

“Didn’t that online list say chocolate starfishes? Why are these strawberry?”

Okay, off to send to-do list stuff to Sage and to figure out how the next dragon book starts.

WIP Wednesday: I Got Words In…Right?

(Missing from last week because while Monday was Monday, Tuesday was also Monday, so Wednesday surprised me and the rest of the week went by too quickly.)

Sometimes I start writing these posts and I have to look and see what I got done over the past week. It should be obvious, but sometimes my brain goes blank and I’m like “Wait. I got words in, right?”

Yes, I did.

Eddie’s book is done, and I love how he and Shelby are navigating their way through the start of their relationship. Well, the start of their in-person relationship. I think that’s what’s odd about these two for me. They both take the time they were just weird “online helper” and cute nut very seriously, so for them, it’s like they’ve been dating for years already.

They haven’t…but explaining it to them isn’t getting through.

I’ve also gotten to-do list stuff done like planning out covers and figuring out release dates.

The guys in the Monster book are getting clearer and I’m making progress on that, but what I really need to do is to collect all the random half-started bonus chapters that haven’t been finished yet. I’m losing track of them and that’s not a good thing.

Who’s going to be responsible for asking me next week if I got the bonus chapter list done? I’m not sure I can be trusted to be left in charge of managing that.

Okay, off to figure out what inspirational rabbit trail to follow…maybe the short I got started with the nuts at the diner in the dragon universe. Kenzie made mochi that looks like buttholes (FB post idea) and the diner men have gone off on the craziest tangent. All I’ve got is random dialogue, though, so it’s time to figure out who’s POV this is from and who’s talking (Why do I do this to myself?).

Omegas New to BDSM – Dirty Daddies Pride 2025 is Now Available

Are you ready for some Dirty Daddies?

Morris and Collin are finally here and I can’t wait to show you their book Beautiful.

I love going back to the omegaverse world to play and showing new people around the club is always so much fun. Getting to explore the club with a couple who are new to each other makes it even better.

There’s just something about that first dance of does he like this and what if I talk about this that makes me want to smile and give my characters a big hug. And when we mix in sexy times and figuring out themselves, it’s icing on the cake.

Morris and Collin are both new to the lifestyle but they’ve got ideas about what they like…the issue is they don’t have the words for it and they’re not sure how everything comes together.
But since this is a Dirty Daddies book, I think you can guess what some of that’s going to look like.

Check out the first chapter if you want a peek before you jump in.

Have fun with these guys and all the other stories in the anthology.

Dirty Daddies Pride 2025 Anthology - Book Cover

Morris is struggling. He knows he is meant to be Collin’s Dom but he’s realistic about his lack of knowledge when it comes to anything in the lifestyle. Understanding safety and where to spank isn’t going to help him figure out the best way to handle his adorably distracted new boyfriend. So it looks like a trip to the club is his only option. Right?

Collin is struggling. With a new boyfriend and desires he can’t quite explain, he’s not sure what to do besides bury his head in the sand…and in his favorite games and apps. Unfortunately, while Morris doesn’t seem to mind that he’s not the most grown-up omega out there, Collin knows he’s going to have to work on being a bit more grown-up if he wants to submit. Right?

When a new relationship leaves two men with more questions than answers, it’ll take new friends and a new adventure to help them see that being a grown-up isn’t always the goal.

Author’s Note: This is a standalone age play story in my Love and Secrets series. It contains alpha/omega dynamics and BDSM but no mpreg.

About Dirty Daddies Pride 2025

There’s more than one way to be a Daddy…

Whether it’s a Daddy claiming his boy or her girl or their little one, these Daddies know that love doesn’t always look one specific way. And that regardless of what the world may think, everyone deserves the Daddy of their dreams.

Deserves to be spanked and spoiled just like any other little one dreaming of a Daddy.

And that something like gender or identity should never get in the way of finding the love of a lifetime…

WIP Wednesday: Omegaverse, Bigfoot, and Getting Distracted

Every year I forget how distracting my kids are in the summer and this year I’m actually getting words in but I’m losing track of what day it is.

But like I’ve said I’ve gotten words in and I’ve done a pretty good job of managing that part of my author life. (It’s the rest that I’m having to work on.)

So what has Shaw been doing?

I’ve finished Dally’s book, so now I just need to do all the other important bits like the cover…and figuring out who should go on the cover. Yes, I’m still calling it Dally’s book but I’m not sure the title will revolve around him so I think I need to look for Harley for the cover (the little).

But our sexy lawyer Santos might be easier to find.

Ugh. Covers are so hard.

What else have I done, though?

I’ve made really good progress on Eddie’s book (Eddie the Hacker in the omegaverse) and that will be ready as soon as I figure out the cover and edits and a few important bits like that. But if you want to refresh yourself with that world, reading the Romance & Revolutions books is probably the best plan.

Because we’ve also got an omegaverse story in the Dirty Daddies Pride anthology coming out on Friday. Yay.

I admittedly have gotten behind on the Patreon story, so if you’re waiting for that I’m very sorry and have been working on it today.

What else have I been doing?

Writing about Bigfoot for the Dirty Daddies Monster Anthology coming out this fall. These two are interesting and starting off very…logically. It’s kind of odd but they seem to need to get the practical things out of the way before they can relax…especially our new little.

Bigfoot is going to be a fun Daddy.

Okay, off to work on Watching Me (Patreon) and possibly a bonus if inspiration strikes. So let me know if there’s a bonus short or chapter you’re hoping to see.

Supportive Mothers, Writing What I Knew, Shy Characters, and A Loud Character (June Past Pages)

In 2024, I ran a series called ‘Past Pages’ in my reader group. Each month, I’d spotlight past books published during that month – sharing writing secrets, character insights, and the stories behind them. I even opened the floor for questions and comments. This year, I’m bringing ‘Past Pages’ to my blog! Feel free to join the conversation, whether you participated last year, or not. I’m excited to revisit these books with you!

His Missing Pieces - Pieces Series Book 1 by MA Innes- Gay Romance Book Cover

His Missing Pieces

Just before I started writing this I remember having a conversation with someone about how there weren’t enough positive mothers in mm books. (If this was you then thank you but I can’t remember who this conversation was with.)

I loved the idea of having a positive mother figure but I could see how that would be traumatizing in its own way and funny in others. Once I figured out that point it was time to figure out who this wonderfully frustrating woman was going to torment.

Bryan.

He really is fun to fuck with so I can’t blame her.

I love these guys and I have from the very beginning, but when I started writing this book this was the longest amount of time I spent writing about any characters. Three books felt crazy and then the fourth was just waiting in the wings because I couldn’t wrap it all up in a trilogy lol.

Now that doesn’t sound nuts at all but back then it felt like I was writing about them forever.

Have you read about these guys? They started here but since then have been popping up in the Loving series (the Too Close books). Bryan’s grown a lot since this first book.

Answer in the comments: What are your favorite parts of their story or this series? Any standout moments that just make you laugh? Do you have any questions for me about His Missing Pieces?

Garrett - Bound and Controlled series Book 1 by Shaw Montgomery - Gay Romance Book Cover

Garrett

I remember exactly where I was when I figured out what this series was going to be about. I was driving to my daytime job at the time and I knew I had time to write a series of novellas. But that left me figuring out all the rest of the details lol.

As I drove through the tiny tiny town I was living in at the time I drove past an insurance office and I realized that I wanted to write a series about something I knew really well. Insurance. (At one point I was licensed to sell insurance in almost every state…car, home, life, and more.)

Once I got to that point, everything else fell into place and I spent the rest of the drive (sooo sooo long) talking into the memo app on my phone and talking about what the series was going to be about.

I never imagined that people would be reading this series years later or that it would still be getting recommended so many years later. You guys are amazing and I really appreciate how much you love this series and just how you recommend my books in general. That’s actually one of the best things you can do to help your favorite authors.

Now, I wrote this series based around a career that I knew well but what other careers do you think a family series could be about? These guys are fabulously close and their family leans toward oversharing, but what kind of families would you like reading about?

Answer in the comments: Do you have any questions for me about Garrett?

Unexpected - Unconditional Love Series Book 1 by MA Innes - Gay Romance Book Cover

Unexpected

I love shy characters and scenes that are slightly unexpected and this book has so many things that I love.

I love that Ryland’s so shy and loves burying his head in the sand.

I love the first grocery store scene and how Holden overhears his ridiculous logic.

I love the teddy bear scene because it’s just so sweet and Ryland’s trying to open up.

This whole series was fun to write but Unexpected is one of my favorite books. Ryland is an adorable ostrich and just hides from anything and everything he doesn’t want to confront and he’s got a great best friend, Finn.

Have you read Unexpected?

Answer in the comments: What was your favorite scene? What are your favorite ways for the main characters to meet each other? Do you have any questions for me about Unexpected?

An Atypical Love by Shaw Montgomery - Gay Romance Book Cover

An Atypical Love

Oh, these guys are just so sweet.

Sometimes characters just stand up and say hi then do something interesting…like say they’re confused or that they need something different in a relationship.

Dayton (the sub in the book) was one of those characters. He just stood up and started explaining everything he couldn’t do because his pain tolerance isn’t the same as most people, and since that seems to be the only thing anyone has focused on it’s kind of ruining his dating life (It’s really the only thing the Doms at B&C have focused on, so he’s frustrated.).

So after I poked at random ideas, I turned to Conner and asked him what he thought and Conner to the rescue. (That’s always scary.) I love any excuse to go to the B&C club and to see what mischief Conner is getting up to because as one of the owners of the B&C club, he knows the most interesting people and always loves to chat.

This time he started introducing me to a Dom that he knows who’s had terrible luck with dates and subs in general. Somehow people don’t always understand what being asexual means or how to accept his limits. Luckily for him, he didn’t have that problem with Dayton.

Answer in the comments:
What did you think of the shibari in this book and the different kinds of scenes? Do you have any ideas for characters who would be a little more unique? Do you have any questions for me about An Atypical Love?

Blue Ridge Magic: Bonus Shorts Collection – Available in the Freebie Bonus Library for Newsletter Subscribers

My dragons!

I’ve got something fun for newsletter subscribers and I want to make sure everyone sees this. There is a bonus library of shorts for newsletter subscribers (some that have originally popped up in random places), and I add to it on a semi-regular basis (when Sage reminds me too lol).

I’ve recently added a shorts collection, Blue Ridge Magic: Bonus Shorts Collection, that has four shorts that take place in the Blue Ridge Magic world! Some of the stories started out free on Patreon and one is a completely new one (Lorne’s Arrest).

Blue Ridge Magic: Bonus Shorts Collection Contains:

-Friends and Flying (Secrets and Kisses bonus)
-Lorne’s Arrest (Sparkles and Scowls bonus)
-Cruise Night (Wishes and Research bonus)
-Daddies to the Rescue (Wishes and Research bonus)

These are not standalone stories. These are newly edited bonus chapters and shorts that only make sense after you’ve read the original books in the series. Let’s face it, without knowing how interesting Lorne is you’re not going to understand why Sage was so excited to see him getting arrested.

The newsletter bonus library also has other fun bonuses from a variety of series and books. Everything from The BBQ Short, The BRM prequel, 2 stand-alone stories, bonuses from Austin, Archer, Kenton, and more! Here’s a graphic showing everything in the Freebie Library.

Shaw Montgomery - MA Innes Freebie Bonus Library Downloads

There are now 18 items in the Freebie Bonus Library. So if you want to get some freebies from my college cuties or with Kevin and the gang, check it out.

And just to reinforce the obvious, signing up for the newsletter gets you weekly-ish emails with extra behind the scenes info on what’s coming up and you get longer teasers about upcoming books, so I hope you’ll join us there if you haven’t already.

BRM Bonus Collection from MA Innes

The Blue Ridge Magic Shorts Collection contains four bonus chapters/shorts to show you what other
ridiculousness our favorite dragons have gotten up to.

These are not standalone stories and you need to
have read the books in the main Blue Ridge Magic series for these to make sense.

-Friends and Flying (Secrets and Kisses bonus)
-Lorne’s Arrest (Sparkles and Scowls bonus)
-Cruise Night (Wishes and Research bonus)
-Daddies to the Rescue (Wishes and Research bonus)
