Two Stubborn Men – Caring for My Boy is Now Available!

Two Stubborn Men - Caring for My Boy is Now Available! - blog post from MA Innes

I like it when the people in my head cooperate and do what I tell them…especially when it comes to things like therapy.

But some people are just so stubborn.

Jace and Victor are both stubborn and a lot alike in some ways and different in others…

Like their age gap.

Like the fact that Jace is a Dom and Victor is a sub.

Like the fact that Jace is the son and Victor is his dad.

They’re both also really good at ignoring things they don’t want to talk about until there’s no other choice.

We’re at the point of no choice with these two.

Caring for My Boy is a hurt/comfort taboo slow-burn with the son being the Dom. What else do you need to know for this one? That’s always hard but this book touches a lot of grief and has mentions of fears of suicide but no on page or past attempts.

Neither of them is in a good place when this starts and that’s why hurt/comfort is so hard for me to write, but I can’t wait to see what you think of their journey.

Check out the first part of their book if you’re curious.

You can purchase Caring for My Boy here on my site or also on Smashwords depending on what’s easiest for you.

Something had to change or there wasn’t going to be anything left of either of them.

Jace is tired. He’s tired of fear…tired of worrying what will happen if he looks away…of not knowing how to help…of watching someone he loves waste away.

His father.

Victor is tired. He’s tired of living without a purpose…tired of feeling lost…of trying to do everything on his own…of watching the person he loves most putting his life on hold.

His son.

Two lost men. One simple question. What would you do to help the man you loved?

Important Author’s Note:

As much as I love characters who make the choice to have good mental health and go talk to a therapist of some sort, there will always be characters who don’t make the most reasonable choice or even a passable one.

Jace and Victor’s story is an M/m incest romance between a father and son that has unhealthy logic and a lot of justification, but they’re consenting adults who care deeply about each other and I can see how we got to this point.

Overwhelming grief.

Content warnings are always hard to write because the things that upset people can vary wildly, but this story addresses grief, the loss of a loved one/parent, therapy that didn’t go right the first time, incest, and has mentions of suicidal fears but no actual attempt on page or in the past.
