Exploring Some Alien Dragons – Read Culture and Curiosities Today with Early Access!

Early Access is Live!

If you’re ready to dive head first into dragon shenanigans then your wait is over.

If you’re ready to hear a bit more about what’s happening in my Blue Ridge world then I’ve got you covered too.

If you’re going to read this in KU or grab it off Amazon then you’ve got a few more days to wait, sorry.

So…my magical troublemakers…

Spoilers ahead…

Yep…even though you just rolled your eyes I’m still going to warn you.

At the end of Myths and Shifts we saw them going through the portal and after much drama and complaining and characters chattering about mostly unhelpful things, I decided that it would be the right place to do a spin-off series.

I have no intention of leaving these guys anytime soon but we’ve got to keep the books in manageable chunks. So the first six books (and bonusy stuff and the prequel) will all be under Blue Ridge Magic, but their portal and alien adventures will be in Blue Ridge Charm.

Because as crazy as they are…Southerners have a charm all their own…especially when it can be magically influenced. (Mental detour through memories I probably shouldn’t share lol but now I’m back…oh those southern accents…)

Where were we?

Dragons and aliens.

Yes.

We’re heading through the portal…we’ve got aliens figuring stuff out…the diner men are still wonderfully nosy…we’ve got naughty mochi and an offended little baker…and then we’ve got some portal magic.

I have to admit it takes us a while to get there but I had to show you this and that and then Kenzie said “oh, me too” and it just kept going.

They’re all wonderful attention-whores and I can’t wait to show you what these guys have been up to. Have fun with my cuties.

Culture and Curiosities by MA Innes - Book Cover Gay Romance

Wren
Mates. Wren knows they just pop up when it’s completely unexpected, like at a party with clowns, crazy townspeople, and the cutest alien he’s ever met. Alien dragon? Mage? His mate is clearly not a local but that’s just going to make the adventure of a lifetime even more interesting. Besides, the only thing that matters is he’s a Daddy…right?

Toman
Mates. Toman knows mates are granted by the fates, but the last place he expected to find his was on another world where nothing quite makes sense. Team Binkie? Team Pony? His goals were planned out, but everything changes when his adorably confusing mate bounces into his life. Now he’s got a new list of things to learn, like what makes a Daddy and how do Earthlings fall in love.

When the mate bond strikes, two men must learn how to build a love that crosses cultures and bridges the stars.

Author’s Note: This is the first book in a new spinoff series. This takes place after the events in Blue Ridge Magic and is best read after the original series. You’re not going to understand why the old men are so funny if you don’t see the original chaos and you have to meet Deputy Talon the way he was meant to be seen, cussing about f-ing aliens and wondering what kind of crazy job he signed up for.

Get To Know Toman – Pre-Order Culture and Curiosities Now!

Ready to meet Toman?

Another reminder that this is going to have spoilers for the Blue Ridge Magic Series…I know…I probably don’t have to point that out but I want to make it clear.

Still here?

Ready?

I love aliens.

I love how they see the world they’re exploring.

I love how they marvel at some of the changes and are surprised by others.

I love how they learn languages and cultures.

I really love it when they fall in love.

And Toman is a great combination of all of the things that I love because even when he’s confused he’s sweet and he’s doing his best to just be polite about all the insanity around him. Including with the co-worker he’s brought along on their adventure to another world.

There were a few things that surprised me, but I’ve had so much fun getting to know him and figuring out what he wants in his mate and how he sees his role as Wren’s Daddy.

That was fun.

Here’s a peek at how he sees his adorable mate…

More moans indicated approval and I could feel what I thought was his submission mixed with his desire. It was stronger than anything I’d ever felt and I couldn’t imagine anyone formidable enough to be both predator and prey.

My mate was incredible.

And very needy.

It’s Time To Meet Wren – Pre-Order Culture and Curiosities Now!

Are you ready to meet Wren?

So…again…a warning about spoilers for Myths and Shifts and possibly other books in the original series.

Last chance to change your mind…

There will be spoilers for the original series…

Ready?

What do we know about Wren at the end of the last book?

-He thoroughly enjoys driving his cousin Pierce crazy.

-He’s wonderfully nosy.

-He’s a wilderness expert and that seems to have happened in an attempt to avoid his mother. (Helicopter would be an understatement.)

-He’s met someone interesting that turns out to be his mate.

-He loves the shenanigans in town and all the ridiculous chaos.

I have to say that my favorite scene where Wren shows up in Myths and Shifts was his squirrel scene. He’s an adorable squirrel and he’s not afraid to make sure everyone knows it. He’s also not afraid of shopping ‘til he drops and I can’t wait to show you how he got the costume.

The first chapter of this came from a silly post that showed up in my Facebook group, so if you’re curious about what the characters are looking at head over to the Facebook group and search “mochi” in my group.

Yes, I am grinning as I write this and I’ll do another post after the release to show anyone who isn’t on Facebook what the original post looked like.

It was just another bit of crazy that Wren loved and gave him the push to start chattering and telling me what he was up to.

Are you ready to hang out with Wren?

We’re getting closer and closer to the 26th but stay tuned for Toman’s introduction.

Click here to read the first full chapter if you’re too curious to resist.

WIP: Want To Do’s and Need To Do’s

Some weeks are about the practical side of writing and planning for upcoming projects.

So I finished the next dragons and I’m playing with some bonus chapters and random things for them, but I haven’t jumped head first into a new project yet…mostly because I need to figure out what I have to write next.

This is definitely a playing catch up week and that means to-do lists and getting my brain wrapped around what it wants to write next and what it needs to write next.

Those are generally two different things.

Right now, the plan is to jump between a want to write project and a need to write project until I get behind on the have to write project and that becomes my primary project.

Need to projects: The Secret Santa Daddy book for this year, bonus chapters, my Patreon story, and some more Christmas fun.

Need to planning: Planning more about the Monster Anthology release because I haven’t told you guys enough about that one yet, writing out ideas for the upcoming books I haven’t started writing yet, and planning for 2026 because Sage said I have to (and she’s generally always right about this kind of stuff).

Want to: My brain has started thinking about new series ideas and that’s a terrible idea, so I’m telling it no. I’ve got way too many random starts open on my computer, so I’m going to try to trim those down into practical ideas that need to be written so both lists match (I’m not holding my breath on that one.) A slightly strange story I started on Patreon about a guy who wants to adopt a little. It’s weirder than you think and my brain really likes this one.

Okay, off to work on the to-do list and hopefully get a few things planned out today because my head is very full and it’s distracting as hell. Wish me luck and let me know which of the upcoming projects you’re most excited about.

Monster Anthology with Bigfoot
Secret Santa Daddy for 2025
A Little Christmas
The Tender Control bonus
Dragons bonus

Yep, the to-do list just keeps growing.

Ready for More Dragon Shifters? – Pre-Order Culture and Curiosities Now!

My dragons are coming back!

This will have spoilers for the Blue Ridge Magic series, so if you’re not through with that one it’s time to catch up and then come back to this post if you like to live spoiler free.

You need to be up to date with the other books for this to really make sense.

Last warning…

Here we go…

I will be the first to admit that it took a while to get back to my dragons. I love these guys and everything about their world makes me laugh, but after Myths and Shifts I couldn’t figure out how everything should look.

Continue the main series?
Do a spin-off series?
Who gets to be in the series?
Who goes through the portal?
Do we go through the portal?
What happens if we go through the portal?

Some characters were more helpful than others when it came to chatting about what they were up to and what they wanted to happen, but it was still a ridiculous number of decisions that took me entirely too long to answer.

Squirrel brain and generally being indecisive about a lot of things is a terrible combination.

But my adorable dragons didn’t help the situation…Lorne just wanted to talk about his ereader (you’ll see what happens here) and Kenzie was worried about strange things and bookshelves (again…you’ll see what happens with this) and the diner men were just up to shenanigans.

But we finally got everything figured out and organized all the random pieces into a book…Culture and Curiosities.

This is going to be the first book in the spin-off series Blue Ridge Charm.

It’s Wren and Toman’s book, and I couldn’t wait to share more of it with you, so check out the blurb below! Click here to read the first full chapter.

Culture and Curiosities will be live on Amazon on September 26th and will be live for Early Access on September 21st.

I’m going to be introducing you to these guys soon, so check back to get to know my new cuties. If you like the way my tentacle aliens are always trying to understand their humans, I think you’re going to like how Toman tries to understand his mate…and everyone else in town because he’s never met anyone like them.

WIP Wednesday: Aliens, Dressing Up, and Chatty Dragons

First some random teasers…

I’ve been working on some shorts for the alien world and the human helper guy from the last alien book is the one who’s talking the loudest. So we’re getting to see lots of random bits about how he started his job and some of his favorite interactions with the humans and aliens around him.

“I want to climb him like a monkey.” The wide eyes were back but he kept going. “I want to do inappropriate things with him.”

Oh.

“He’s basically a stranger.” Shocked cutie’s eyes somehow got wider. “I don’t do that.”

Then it just got better.

“Does it count as him being male since he’s not human? In like…you know…the traditional sense?” Looking a bit like he was wondering about where the penis was hiding in a tentacle alien, the confused cutie’s frown got deeper. “I don’t want to be rude…but…but I thought I was straight.”

These shorts are going on Patreon for the time being (any paid tier gets access to these) but if you had things you wanted to see from our human helper cutie let me know.

—————

The guys from the Tender Control series are getting some bonus chapters so I’ve been poking at them…

“Am I dressed right?” Porter had dressed me in nice pants he kept calling slacks and a polo kind of shirt, but my host was in a Fifties dress with heels and everything…and I was pretty sure that meant I was underdressed.

Derek snickered, lowering his voice to a whisper to match mine. “Yes, you’re fine. Destin just wanted to look special for our dinner party.”

How the kinky people I’d met were the fanciest I’d ever met would never make sense.

—————

The dragons are rushing toward the finish at a frantic pace because everyone’s started talking at once and telling random things that they think have to make it into the book. So when you’re reading the next dragon book, Culture and Curiosities, and find something random just know that it’s the character’s fault not mine.

If it gives you a clue about how it’s going, right now I have a file labeled “missing chapters because I’m an idiot.”

And then there’s the guy that wants to adopt a little…yep…creatively it’s been a busy week and the interesting characters are just popping up right and left.

Please don’t ask about my to-do list…and one of you dropped the ball on helping me remember that I need to gather up all the half-started bonus chapters.

Okay, back to dragons and telling myself I’ll look at my to-do list later.
