In 2024, I ran a series called ‘Past Pages’ in my reader group. Each month, I’d spotlight past books published during that month – sharing writing secrets, character insights, and the stories behind them. I even opened the floor for questions and comments. This year, I’m bringing ‘Past Pages’ to my blog! Feel free to join the conversation, whether you participated last year, or not. I’m excited to revisit these books with you!

His to Dare - Becoming His Book 1 by MA Innes - Gay Romance Book Cover

His to Dare

The photo on this cover was originally posted by a book cover designer and she was frustrated that she couldn’t do a cover with it because Amazon would never let it up on their site.

I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it and quickly said I didn’t need to put it up on Amazon.

Well, one cover turned into a series and then I had to figure out what was going on with the character on the cover.

That was fun lol.

He liked ignoring the obvious in his life and he was definitely kinkier than he was trying to appear.

I love characters like that lol.

I had every intention of finishing this series quickly but life got in the way in several different ways. But I promise I have not forgotten them and I’ve been poking away at their last book.
The big problem now is that Smashwords was sold and is now owned by a new company that says the middle cover is too sexy for Smashwords.

Yep, you read that right. Tushies are too naughty for Smashwords. This timeline is getting weird.

But what do you think? Should the second book have a big censored label down the middle of his butt or should I do a very plain cover for Smashwords and then the sexy one on my site? I’m conflicted and that’s part of what’s distracting me from finishing the third book. Sorry about that.

Our Boy - Our Love Series book 2 by MA Innes- Gay Romance Book Cover

Our Boy

This is the second book in the Our Love series and this was an interesting series and release. The jumping off point for this series was Bishop (one of Ian’s partners) when he was a side character in one of the L&L books.

But it took me a while to figure out what was going on with Bishop and who he was meant to be with. Honestly, it wasn’t until some of you guys started telling me about what you thought about him that I realized Bishop needed to partners and Ian would be one of them.

He’s a cute little and has the funniest friends. If you like the drunk nights that the omegas have and that were in some of the L&L books then you’ll love slushy nights with Ian and his friends. In fact, Kenton (one of his friends) is getting his own book and that will be out in April.

So, if you’re looking for a series to dive into that has side characters with their own books these guys would be a good place to start.

Answer in the comments: What was your favorite part about this series? Mine was Bishop and Cohen getting to drive Eli and Roman nuts. Every good sub needs a pony, right? Do you have any questions for me about Our Boy?

  1. My comment is about the second book and I vote just change the smashwords cover. But that’s just what I would do.
