Want a Free eBook? Comment to Win Experiments in Love (Jan 12th-14th)

How about some fun?

Experiments in Love is now live here on my site until Thursday, so to celebrate the Early Access release, and that it will be live on Amazon on Friday, we’re going to do a giveaway.

For a chance to win an ebook copy of Experiments in Love comment below and tell me the last book of mine you read.

Rereads count, so if you’ve been going through the dragons again to get ready for their next book let us know, or if you’ve been rereading our omegas because they’re just adorable trouble then tell us that too.

I’m very curious to see what you’ve been reading so play along, and I hope you’re excited to go back to the B&C Club in Experiments in Love.

The giveaway will close Tuesday night and a winner will be picked by a random number. Be sure you include your email address when you comment so we can contact you if you win (only website admins can see the info).

Experiments in Love by Shaw Montgomery - Gay Romance Book Cover

Anson isn’t going to apologize for eavesdropping when the conversation is so fascinating and the questioner sounds so cute. He is, however, going to thoroughly enjoy discussing the intriguing topic and offer up his help. After all, scientific curiosity should be encouraged, especially when the inquisitive cutie has such an interesting hypothesis.

Kennedy knows he’s right…size does matter…but proving it seems like an impossible task until a helpful stranger in a naughty bar offers to set up an experiment…and to take Kennedy out on a date. Kennedy’s appropriately skeptical, of course. Most people find him annoying, but most people aren’t Anson, a sweetheart with more numbers in his life than friends.

When two unique men decide to tackle an age-old question, they’ll satisfy more than just their curiosity along the way.

Author’s Note: Yes, you know what this is going to be about, but neither man considers it cheating since they’re working through their experiment together. It’s for science, of course. But if you want more details about the exact nature of their research, check out the inside of the book or the author’s website for more information.

Publishing Plans for Early 2025

Are you ready for a peek at what’s coming in 2025?

I’ll be the first to admit that the people in my head and I aren’t always in agreement about what we need to be doing.

Basically, it’s I plan and they laugh.

Or Sage makes me plan and then they laugh.

But as of the writing of this post, we are all in agreement…Sage (best PA ever), me (squirrel-brained author), and the people in my head (the brats).

Keep your fingers crossed that everything goes as planned and no one in my head gets stubborn.

In January, we’ve got Experiments in Love (sharing for science) and that’s one hundred percent good to go because it’s edited and everything lol.

This has an adorably nutty sub who’s very confident that he knows the answer to the “does size matter” question, but in the name of science, he needs to confirm his hypothesis. There’s no cheating and nothing angsty between the main characters, but there is a slightly frustrated best friend who’s questioning everyone’s sanity (including his own).

Experiments in Love will release on January 17th and is up on preorder here and on Amazon.

February is going to be busy. It’s going to have His to Love (Becoming His, book 3) and that is well underway at this point. I know what they’re doing and I’m slowly poking at them to focus and function. This should be done by mid-January and will be releasing (fingers crossed) on February 7th.

If you want a fix of these guys first then check out this bonus short that shares what the rest of the guys were thinking at that picnic table scene in book two. And if you haven’t read any of these yet, now is the time to grab them here or on Smashwords.

Other fun projects for February are going to be another German translation (the Bound and Controlled Series is being translated next!) and another Blue Ridge Magic book. Both of those projects are on track but my dragon cuties need names. They’ve got jobs and personalities and backstories, though. And they’ve all finally explained what’s going on with the portal, so right now, Blue Ridge Magic 6 should be live on February 21st. (These are Amazon release dates, not my site dates. It is up for pre-order on my site here.)

March has a new paranormal book with a laidback handyman who’s run into a drama queen ghost who’s newly dead and just a bit wound up. I’ve gotten a lot written in this book but it doesn’t have a title yet. I’m working on that, though, so hopefully it won’t be long before I figure that out because it’s going live on March 21st and I want to get the preorder up soon on Amazon but for now it’s up for early access pre-order here.

April is where I get slightly fuzzier. The plan is to have Aubrey and Lincoln’s book release on April 4th. (They show up as side characters in the Bound and Controlled Series and in Rethinking Fate) I’ve got a good start on this but I’m still working on figuring out some of the details and making sure it feels right. I much prefer writing happy cuties and this book starts at a more stressful point for them. So I’m going to do my best to keep this going and not avoid their conflict.

For the rest of the year, I’ve got lots of ideas and I know I want to work on things like another Too Close book, more of my adorable aliens, cute pups, and more fun anthologies. But we know how my brain likes to jump around, so I’m going to wait to share more details on those until I actually start working on the stories and I know exactly what I’m doing.

But what do you want to see next year?

I think I’ve made notes here about most of the projects you guys usually ask me about, but I’d love to hear your thoughts and see what else you’re hoping to see. So feel free to comment here or to contact me in other ways. I love hearing from you guys and you always give me the best ideas.

Picnic Table Shenanigans – Kevin’s POV – Bonus Short

Kevin is always eager to chat.

This is the conversation where TC (His to Use, Becoming His Book 2) went to the other kinky guys at the college to get more information on Dr. Sheppard, but this is from Kevin’s POV. I think you can read this even if you haven’t read His to Use (which is only available on my site and Smashwords if that gives you a hint about the content).

But if you want to catch up, now is a great time to grab the Loving Series or Becoming His series with the sale!

Have fun with a little bit of Kevin and the gang.

Kevin

“Oh, he’s coming.” It was going to be good…I just knew it.

“Who’s coming?” Bryan’s frown was okay but the way he started to turn around on the bench was not.

“Don’t look.” How did he not know that?

He was going to make everyone else look too.

Rolling his eyes, Bryan settled back on the bench and leaned closer as he shot me a glare. “I have to look because you’re not making sense.”

He was so dramatic sometimes.

“It’s the weird guy I was telling you about.” We’d talked about him just a few hours ago, so I wasn’t sure how he couldn’t remember that. I didn’t have any classes with the weird guy, but he just stood out in a crowd, so Bryan should’ve definitely already seen him around.

“Soup Guy?” Head cocking as everyone else tried not to snicker, Bryan frowned and still looked confused. “I really don’t understand how you think eating soup can be creepy.”

He needed to get out more…that weirdo was beyond creepy.

“It was serial killer weird.” Just my description should’ve made that obvious. “He’s going to be on the news someday. But no, this is the other weird guy. Sexy Frowning Guy. The one who’s into something kinky, but cool weird and kinky, not dead people in his basement weird and kinky.”

“Is having a dead body in your basement considered a kink?” Hayden was appropriately curious, but Trent looked like I’d offered to teach Hayden how to chop up a body.

“Don’t answer that.” The glare was sexy but he was the sensitive type and we had to be careful not to upset him.

“Stop talking or he’s going to think we’re the serial killers.” Maddox was trying to look just as laid back as Sexy Frowning Guy, but he was fighting off the giggles.

“We’re way too normal for that.” I really didn’t appreciate the way everyone had to press their lips together not to snicker, but before I could lecture everyone and remind them how weird the rest of the campus was, Sexy Frowning Guy plopped himself down unexpectedly.

Trent didn’t appreciate being startled and looked like he wanted to be the one chopping up Sexy Frowning Guy, but Bryan nearly jumped out of his skin. I was the most laid back and Trent was the most aggressive, so Sexy Frowning Guy was smart and focused on us. “I need to know if Dr. Sheppard is as open-minded as it sounds.”

Oh interesting.

But Dr. Sheppard wasn’t really my specialty, so I waited patiently for Bryan to handle it.

And waited.

And waited.

“This isn’t rocket science and you guys aren’t as subtle as you think.” That was complete bullshit, but I didn’t interrupt. “I didn’t sign up for the BDSM club because I’m not a joiner. But now I have a sub and I’m trying not to screw shit up.”

I knew it!

He was kinky.

Wait.

Who was his sub?

Who had I seen him with?

There was the guy who always looked like a scared rabbit ready to cry, but that didn’t feel right. He wasn’t anywhere near ready to submit to someone like Sexy Frowning Guy.

Who else?

Oh, he’d been at the library and had been sitting at the same table with the guy who stared at everyone’s feet.

Did Sexy Frowning Guy have good feet?

Maybe, but he wasn’t patient at all because he huffed and glared harder. “I can ask the questions here or sign up for the fucking club and learn what everyone’s deal is there. I thought this would be easier.”

He needed to work on his ability to give everyone processing time, but he was hot and kind of funny. “I never thought joining a club would be a threat. You’re interesting.”

I was going to have to remember that and find a way to use it.

Bryan seemed to have guessed that, though, because he worked up the nerve to glare at me in front of Sexy Frowning Guy. “You’re…”

Amazing.

Sexy.

The best almost big brother ever.

“It’s a simple question.” Sexy Frowning Guy seemed to think so, but he was wrong for a variety of reasons.

We didn’t know anything about him, so how much should we share with him?

Dr. Sheppard was entirely too trusting with people. What if Sexy Frowning Guy was the one with dead bodies in his basement?

Bryan, Maddox, and Jeremy were all thinking the same thing, but Hayden hadn’t gotten the psychic memo. “I think it’s going to depend on what you mean, but if you’re asking about kinks and different types of…let’s call them nontraditional relationships then yes, he’s open-minded.”

“How nontraditional?” Frowning Guy was being serious, but I couldn’t help snickering.

Bryan elbowed me and the look he shot me said he was going to lecture me later, but I was just glad he wasn’t looking so panicked any longer.

I was the bestest friend ever.

He was going to owe me.

Maddox seemed to realize that too because he leaned against the table and decided to take charge. “Can I be very straightforward?”

Yep, and in front of strangers, he could do it without giggling.

“Please.” Waving his hand around the table, Frowning Guy was looking like Frustrated Guy. “No one here is as subtle as they think they are and the BDSM community is way too open around here to hide much.”

Okay, maybe he had a point there.

“As long as it’s consensual and not harmful in a bad way, he’ll talk to you and try to see if he can help or answer your questions.” Maddox took point again and looked so confident I was pretty sure Bryan melted a little…probably because he didn’t have to talk and explain it.

He wasn’t good at mixing work and personal, so he was definitely glad Maddox continued to take point with the curious conversation. “I’m not breaking any confidences to say that he’s a little and has been in a long-term relationship with his partner. He’s also smart and not easily shocked.”

“Alright, thanks.” Sexy Frowning Guy got up like we were done, but I still had questions.

Lots of them.

“Wait. Are you sure you don’t want to come to the club or hang out?” It would satisfy my curiosity and it was technically the right thing to do.

The way Bryan had kicked my leg under the table said so.

At the very least, if his sub needed therapy then the guy probably needed friends he could talk to as well.

Sexy Frowning Guy didn’t seem to understand that, though. “I’m good. Thanks.”

“But I’m nosy and you’ve given me just enough to drive me insane.” And Bryan’s expression said he didn’t like the guy walking away either.

Laughter rolled around the table but Sexy Frowning Guy played it straight and almost glared at me. “I’d rather not give my boy a heart attack by telling him I told strangers at school what we were doing or why I was asking about a therapist.”

Well, at least he was a decent Dom?

“I’m a good listener.” Giving it one more try had him shaking his head.

“Nope. And you’re not my sub, so I don’t have to be manipulated by pouts or whines and you can’t bribe me.”

Sexy Frowning Guy was officially Sexy Stubborn Dom Guy.

“That sucks.” I’d figure it out, though.

As he headed off, probably to meet with his mysterious sub, I was polite and waited until he was out of earshot to say anything. “Okay, what are we thinking?”

“That you’re really nosy?” Bryan was trying to look professional but I knew he was just as curious as I was.

He was just supposed to pretend he wasn’t because Dr. Sheppard’s name had been invoked.

“That I’m hoping there’s not a bad reason he needs therapy?” Hayden looked at Trent and frowned and the big lug melted.

“Nothing the asshole said made it sound like there was that kind of trauma.” Trent reached over and ran his hand over Hayden’s head. “Whatever they’re into is probably just stressing the guy out.”

Oh.

Good point.

“That wasn’t trauma worry.” I’d seen that before. “That was my sub is a nutty worrywart and is making himself miserable kind of emotion.”

I’d seen trauma worry on Jeremy back before everything had gotten amazing.

Hmm.

Was it?

No.

Maybe?

Could he be a sarcastic annoying version of Jeremy?

“Don’t worry. If I see him around, I’ll pester him appropriately.” As long as Jeremy wasn’t around. I didn’t like the look he was aiming in my direction.

“Do you want to know how many times you called him sexy?”

Oh, I changed my mind…I liked the look he was giving me.

It was going to be the best direction ever.

I hope you had fun with this. It was a good way for me to get back in the heads of Kevin as well as TC and Perry.

The next Becoming His book should be out in February and I’m working on the plans for the next Loving book. So keep an eye out for news about both of those coming soon.

Puppy Playtime! Bonus Chapters from Accidental Master + A Halloween Kind of Night

This was originally supposed to be a short alternate POV to show you what happened after Wynn and Boone (A Halloween Kind of Night) met Cooper, Sawyer, and Jackson in person, but it took me way too long to figure out how this was going to start.

It was actually an online friend who gave me the idea that brought it to life for me and I’m so excited to show you what these guys are up to.

Of course, when I explained to Sage (best PA ever) how long this turned out, she very firmly told me it had to be in an ebook format because it was entirely too long to go in a blog post. She was definitely right.

This is two bonus chapters, one at Halloween and the other a bit later when Wynn and Boone come over to play.

If you haven’t read A Halloween Kind of Night, click the spoiler text below for what you need to know.

Spoiler
You just need to know that Wynn dressed up his best friend as Jackson for Halloween, and eventually they came over to play with Cooper and the guys.

Have fun with these guys, and I hope you don’t mind going back to Halloween this late in the year. What can I say? Cooper likes talking about getting dressed up more than he likes Santa.

2024 Personal Year Wrap Up

I’ve been trying to figure out what I wanted to write for a more personal wrap-up to 2024 and I just keep coming back to not knowing how it’s already the end of the year. In my head, there’s no way we’re at the end of December, and I’m just not sure how we got here.

I know it sounds insane, but to my squirrel brain, it really feels like it should only be October.

But it’s not and I know that because Sage (best PA ever) has been making me plan 2025 for the past two months. (I’m pretty sure that’s the only way I know it’s the end of the year.)
And now I officially have too much I want to do and not enough time in 2025 too.

I need an extra month in the year…or possibly for my kids to be a tiny bit less distracting. But I can’t complain about that too much because they both had great years (daughter is a sophomore and son is a junior) and they’ve both grown a lot as people.

Thinking about what to write had me looking back on last year and I had to laugh when the end of year post for 2023 was all about how much I love my quiet time. That hasn’t changed at all, but I love the way my kids worry about me and how they make sure to check up on me.

I’ve got two wonderful kids and great readers and a ton of people in my head who want to come out and play in 2025, so I know how blessed I am, and I hope you’ve had a wonderful year too.

Here is to 2025 and hoping that I can bring you books you love and that we’ll have a wonderful new year.
