I know you’ve heard me say this before, but some characters are just louder than others. Each one of them is different, but some characters just keep chattering and want to tell me everything from what they had for breakfast to what they want to do next year. Loren was one of the chatty kinds.

For me, one of the hardest things about writing is keeping anything short.

Archer and Declan are finally here. The Beautiful Shame books are always some of my favorite to write. The dirty talk and edging are so much fun to write and the characters always have tons of chemistry and emotional connections. Archer and Declan have that same chemistry from the first time they meet, and in between the sexy teasing and the dirty talk, you can see how they come to care for one another. Starting a book for me is always a very random process. I find inspiration in odd things like song lyrics or comments on the radio or bits of conversations I hear when I’m running errands. Foreplay has always been one of my favorites parts of a book to write. I love the teasing and the build-up and everything that leads to sex when two people are perfect for each other. I think that’s why I love my Beautiful Shame series so much.
