Did Someone Say Side Characters? – Who’s Getting a Story Next

Did someone ask about a side character?

As some of you know, I’ve got a list on a whiteboard in my office that has side characters who need a story. Sometimes I look at the list and sigh because it’s a ridiculous amount and sometimes I look at the list and get an idea.

Over the past few months, I’ve gotten to check some of them off my list. Ben and Conner from the club got their origin story (Becoming the Owners). Gray who showed up in the Leashes & Lace side of things got his book in Daddy’s Little Artist. The baker’s son from the Bound & Controlled books got his story (The Gift of Strength which came out on the 19 th ).

But there are a lot more still on the list.

Did I mention it’s kind of long?

I’m slowly checking off a few more over the next few months, so I thought I’d tell you about a few of them.

-The cute waiter who served Emerson and his Owner in Owners & Dolls (Emerson called him a princess little) is getting get his book very soon. He’s a cutie and a bouncy handful when he’s not being stunned stupid. He’s gotten paired up with my Schwan man. Well, kind of my Schwan man. (Schwan is a food delivery company that brings things like ice cream and chicken nuggets right to your door.) My delivery guy is the sweetest total Daddy, so I gave him to the princess little because sharing is very important.

-The chatty neighbor who cheered on Brady in Save Me Santa is getting a duet. He finds Brady’s roommates fascinating, so I’m curious to see how that’s going to turn out. This should be coming out this summer as long as I don’t get too distracted.

-Something that’s going to be just around the corner is a friend of Melissa’s (The sister from The Accidental Master books) who thinks she’s a pain in the ass but she gave him some interesting advice and pushed him in a new direction. So he’s not really a side character but it’s been fun to see her pop up, and I think it means we’re going to see more of Jackson and his pups in this one.

-Other side characters who are coming later this year are Aubrey and Lincoln and possibly the twins from the omegaverse world, and after that, I have no idea. But I’m going to keep bugging you guys to see what you’d like to read and which side characters should come out to play next…mostly because I love seeing what you’re thinking about and it’s fun to drive everyone crazy.

At least I’m an honest tease?

I can’t wait to show you what’s coming up over the next few months.

A Random Assortment of Publishing Plans for 2023

Every December I sit down to plan out the most logical books I should release for the next year—and every year the plan goes wildly off track. (Insert mental image of author shaking head here.) But, like clockwork, I did it again because I’m a planner by nature and I love lists.

Some of the books I know will get written are from the His To…Series: His to Use and His to Love (early in the year). I also have high on the to-do list to make sure Aubrey and Lincoln’s book gets written this year (Aubrey shows up in Rethinking Fate), as well as another Too Close book.

You’re probably starting to see a theme here…

So did I. (Picture me shaking my head again.)

So I added books to the list that will be able to go on Amazon. I’m less sure of these, but right now, I have that I want to write more about the pups from the Leashes & Lace world. I want to go back to my omegaverse and write more about the littles from the club at the very least. I’ve also been playing around with ideas for a story about Ben and Conner (from the Bound & Controlled club).

There are a lot of fun options from my list of side characters that I’ve been adding to and making notes about this year. My Facebook group has been great about helping me collect all the random characters that have stories, and the list is now on my whiteboard in my office.

The books I know will come out at the beginning of the year because I’ve already gotten a lot written in them (smiling author image here lol) is another Beautiful Shame book. Finley is a sweet, naughty slut, and he’s adorable. You’re going to love him.

I’ve also got a great start on another novella in the alien world. This is going to be in the Dirty Daddies Spring Anthology. Tentacle Daddy is very intent on finding a little to care for. I love writing those guys and my new alien, Wright, is just as earnest as the rest.

There are also a half-dozen first chapters of several other ideas that have popped up over the last few weeks. Like, I know who the guy was downstairs cheering on Brady in Save Me Santa. The number of random book beginnings I’ve done over the past month is truly ridiculous, but I’m very grateful that the people in my head are chatty.

Hopefully, 2023 will continue with that theme and the characters will continue to be excited and helpful.

I would love to be able to write everything that’s bouncing around in my head, but that means they all have to cooperate. So, fingers crossed for a productive year and lots of books.

What’s Coming Up?

Oh, that’s a hard question…the answer is everything, really. I’ve got several books and ideas in various stages.

-One of the things I’m actively writing is a novella for the Dirty Daddies Pride Anthology (June) that has Tony and Loki from the coffee shop in it. (You meet them in A Whipped Cream Kind of Day.)

Skyler snaps and he’s demanding they fix their drama (that’s the definition of irony right there). Remy has to step in and try to help them sort their snark into something more productive…like romance. They’re so cute. I can’t wait to show you more about their story.

-I’m also working on the next book for TC and Perry. I love getting to write the dirty talk in that series, but seeing how they justify their decisions is one of my favorite things about the books. They’re so funny and sexy. I can’t wait to show you how their story continues in His to Use.

-The next book in the disaster series is also underway. Donovan and Trey are so much fun to write. I love seeing how their relationship is developing. I can’t give away too much yet, but I’m having so much fun with these guys. (Book 1, When the Storm Comes, will be released on April 29th!)

Also on the schedule for later this year (so in the planning phases right now) are:

-Bishop (who shows up as side character in Wesley, and Christopher & Ethan Beautiful Shame, Book 3).

-Aubrey and Lincoln’s story (Aubrey shows up in Rethinking Fate)

-Another Too Close book

-And probably another Beautiful Shame book…

And lots more because everyone in my head is very chatty.
