Release Day… Untouched

It’s release day for Jay and Logan in Untouched. I can’t wait for you to meet them. I love the idea that opposites attract, and these two are clearly very different but end up having so much in common. Check out the first chapter if you’re curious about my new pup.

Jay…coming soon!

Less than a week to go until you meet Jay. He started out as a random side character and surprised me with how awkward he was. When he showed up in the Pieces series, something about him seemed more lost than my usual characters. Getting to know him and seeing what he’d been going through was an interesting journey.

Jay’s book, Untouched, comes out on Friday, and I have to say that while he’s so funny, it’s a bit sad to see how completely confused he is at the beginning of the book. I can’t wait for you to meet him, and I’m curious to see what you think.

If you want to see the college world through Jay’s eyes, check out the first chapter of Untouched.

Untouched Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Jay

“Man, he shoved that beer can of his so far up my ass. It was incredible.” The crass words made me blush, but they also didn’t make sense.

Why would he want a beer can shoved up his…butt?

The half-drunk guy that was stretched out on the common room couch answered my unasked question. “It was great, but I’m just saying that thing was so thick I’ve been walking funny for days. Man, no more tops with dicks that wide. I’ll take a nice long thin one any day.”

Ohhh.

“You’re such a slut.” The other voice that seemed to be coming from the floor didn’t consider that a bad thing, if I read his tone of voice right. He seemed to think couch guy was funny. But I could have misunderstood.

I wasn’t a moron, but people’s reactions, especially to sexual things…confused me.

Like, why were they even talking about it at all? The middle of the common room in the dorms wouldn’t have been my first choice of locations to have that kind of discussion. Especially when there seemed to be endless parties going on. Not that I would have talked about something like that with someone anyway.

But still…a beer can?

I couldn’t stop my mind from trying to picture what he was talking about. I imagined a beer can on the old statues I’d seen pictures of, but my brain had other ideas. It immediately changed the cold marble to Logan. My roommate.

I shouldn’t know what he looked like naked, but I did.

I’d been raised with the idea that once you were old enough to take care of yourself in the bathroom, being naked was only acceptable if it was with your spouse, but no one else seemed to follow those rules. People walked around the dorms half-clothed on a regular basis—and then there were people like Logan.

He was naked constantly.

What could I do?

He’d clearly been raised with the idea that being naked was…appropriate. My parents had always said that we didn’t judge and must accept others for what they believed, but I wasn’t sure they’d meant things like this.

Naked strangers.

Sex talk.

Weird sex talk.

And naughty things under the bed.

Master Toby

Master Toby is here! As crazy as this week was, waiting for the giveaway to go live has been incredibly difficult. The big group giveaway has a ton of books by some really wonderful authors. Have fun checking it out and browsing through all the different types of stories. But of course, you have to read about my new guys, Noah and Tobias, first.

They’re so cute together. I can’t wait to see what you think because the story has some fun twists you might not be expecting. Then there’s my habit of bringing back my favorite characters to visit, so you’ll have to see who else shows up in Master Toby.

Another great thing about this week is that Casey is finally out on preorder. The book will go live on February 22nd and is pretty much a standalone. Of course with the fun cameos from the other characters in that series, I think it will be more enjoyable if you’ve read the other Leashes & Lace books first.

Puppy Love

Today I’m turning over the blog to another writer who jumped into puppy play with the cutest story. I had a chance to read Stay before it came out and I thought it was so sweet. Take a look at KM Neuhold‘s Stay and get to know here a bit if you haven’t read her books yet.

Falling In Puppy Love

I want to start out by telling you that less than a year ago, I was as vanilla as they come when it came to what I liked to read about. I was one of those unfortunate people who got a bit scared away from the idea of BDSM in books by…well, I’m sure you can guess which book 😉 . I was quite happy going about my life reading vanilla love stories, and then M.A. Innes happened. I can’t remember at this point what made me curious to read some of the more taboo types of kink M.A. writes about, but I found myself curious. That was how I fell down the puppy play rabbit hole.

To say I never thought about puppy play before this is an understatement. I knew it existed, I’ve seen the HBO documentaries about people’s “strange” sex lives. But it wasn’t something I’d given any more thought to than that. As I started reading puppy play stories, my eyes were completely opened to a different kind of D/s relationship than I’d ever known existed. Of course, there ARE some darker puppy play stories too, but the ones I found myself obsessed with were the sweet and fluffy stories. The thought of a gentle, caring Dom cuddling, playing, and loving his pup was almost too much for my squishy heart to take.

I know for some people, puppy play is just too “out there” to wrap their heads around, but, to me there’s nothing sweeter than this kink. When I think about puppy play, there are two things that speak to me the most—aside from the super sweet Dom, of course. First, I think back to being a kid. I can’t be the only one who spent most of my childhood running around on my hands and knees, insisting I was various kinds of animals, right? It’s that moment of freedom, of not having any responsibilities or worries, of simply playing. When you think of it in those terms, it’s not so hard to relate to, is it? Second, is the ability to touch and be touched without the expectations of sex. Sex is great, but sometimes simply cuddling for hours can restore your soul in ways sex can’t. Sure, some puppy play is sexual, but there’s also the aspect of it where the Master and pup aren’t focused purely on getting off, like other forms of D/s can tend to revolve around, it’s just about being together and relaxing.

When I decided to finally dive in and write my own puppy play, I wanted it to be something people new to reading the kink wouldn’t feel too intimidated by, while also being something appealing to puppy play experts. Lars and Jonah spoke to me on a deep level, as a couple who have been together for a decade and are comfortable with their mostly vanilla sex life. When Jonah discovers puppy play, he’s terrified Lars won’t be up for exploring it with him, but he also can’t shake his new-found desire. I think even if puppy play isn’t your thing, this story is relatable to anyone who has been with a partner long-term. It can be scary and difficult at times to bring up new things to try in the bedroom for fear your partner won’t be interested or they’ll interpret your new needs as a failure on their part. The way Lars and Jonah explore this new side of their relationship together is fun, sweet, and very steamy.

If you want to check out my first foray into puppy play you can get it here: mybook.to/Stay

And I can say without a doubt that now that puppy play has sunk its teeth into me, I WILL be writing many more in the future.

The Accidental Master Chapter 1

Chapter 1

Jackson

“Melissa! What the hell did you put in that Facebook ad? I’m getting all kinds of crazy-ass responses!” Storming into the house, I slammed the door behind me. She was dead meat. She had to have pulled that shit on purpose.

What the hell had I done to her?

I headed for her bedroom, stomping up the stairs. Knowing my sister, she was probably buried up to her neck in books and papers. Normally, I wouldn’t let myself into her house—I actually had manners unlike some people I could name—but this time, she’d gone too far. She wasn’t going to be able to hide from me.

“Melissa!”

“What?” She was sitting on the bed surrounded by papers and notebooks, a half-eaten sandwich hanging off a plate. “What crawled up your ass and died?”

“What—” She wasn’t serious? “I’ll tell you what ‘crawled up my ass’—because it’s your fault. I want to know what you did to my business. That ad you set up? The one you said was a simple Facebook ad that would help my business? What did you put in it?”

I tried to take a deep breath and slow down, but I was too angry and too confused. “I’m getting all kinds of crazy people calling me, and the emails are even worse. I had one from a guy in some weird European country I’ve never heard of, who wanted to know if I did training packages and not just individual sessions. He said he couldn’t figure out from the site what kind of training I did with my pups. He wasn’t talking about dogs!”

“Huh?” She seemed lost. “What do you mean he wasn’t…”

Her voice trailed off, and she got a faraway look in her eyes before they widened, and her mouth opened. “Ohhh…

“Do you know how long it took me to figure out he wasn’t referring to beagles or boxers? Entirely too fuckin’ long!” Just the fact that it’d taken almost five minutes before I finally understood what he was talking about had been the most embarrassing thing. I was a to-each-his-own kind of guy, but it was getting ridiculous.

“Oh, Jackie, I’m—”

I broke in. “Don’t you ‘Oh, Jackie’ me. I’m not six years old following you around like a lost puppy—ha! Puppy! What did you do?”

“Jackson, I’m so sorry. It was an accident—” If I hadn’t known her so well, the innocent, crushed look would have worked.

“Like the accident where you dumped water on my pants at dinner? Or the accident where you put salt in my tea?”

“No, this was a real accident, and come on, I wouldn’t do something like that to you. You know me.”

Bullshit. “The salt incident was last month, and you dumped the water on me last week when you thought I was rude to the waiter.”

“You were rude.” She looked like she was still ready to take up the fight for the lazy waiter.

“That’s not the point. What did you do to my business?” My voice was getting louder, but I couldn’t control it. She’d talked me into trying some new marketing ideas, and now it looked like my business was falling down around me.
